John Braun Director, Maintenance & Engineering
Mr. Braun obtained his S.M.A. (Systems Maintenance Administrator) designation through BOMA of South Florida. He is licensed in Universal Refrigerant Recovery. He received his certificate after two years of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration study at Sheridan Vocation Technical Institute.
Upon completing high school, Mr. Braun joined the United States Marine Corps where he was an Amtrak mechanic and Light Armored Vehicle mechanic, as well as a Water Safety Survival Instructor. He completed four years of service with an Honorable Discharge.
Among his many accomplishments are his 2002 Chief Building Engineer of the Year Award from BOMA of South Florida and becoming a LEED AP (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design-Accredited Professional through the US Green Building Council). Mr. Braun has been an active participant of the annual Corporate Run for the past several years, helping raise money for many local charities. He also contributed many hours volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, an organization helping to build homes for the less fortunate.
Along with his current position as Director of Maintenance, John also holds the position of Safety Director for Property Management at Stiles and conducts ongoing safety training for the maintenance staff. He comes from an engineering family, following in the footsteps of both his father and grandfather. They both worked as Chief Engineers in Miami, Florida. Through his many positions and years of experience in the engineering industry, John has gained the respect of his co-workers and peers and has made a profound mark on the industry.
