Fort Lauderdale-based Stiles Corp. started vertical construction of a three-story office building in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Site work began in the fall of 2016, and Stiles expects to complete the 63,800-square-foot office building, called 300 West Summit, in September 2018.
Both the second and third floors of the office building will have 25,500-square-foot floorplates, and the first floor will have 12,800 square feet of space.
Justin Siemens, vice president and development officer for Stiles in the Carolinas, said in a statement that the design of 300 West Summit addresses a need among employers for “less traditional” office space that helps them recruit and retain talent.
Stiles is constructing the office building in the South End section of Charlotte, home to many of the city’s millennial residents.
Brokerage firm JLL is marketing the office building.
Since 2012, Stiles has had a regional office in Charlotte, where the company has built three shopping centers.
In other parts of the Carolinas, Stiles is developing an apartment property in Raleigh, North Carolina, and a shopping center in Charleston, South Carolina. [Charlotte Business Journal] – Mike Seemuth
