Lots Selling for Home Construction on Golf Property
Posted on 7/5/2016Developer Terry Stiles, auto dealer Phil Smith and other investors have started selling lots for 36 single-family homes at the old American Golfers Club in Fort Lauderdale.
Stiles and Smith are part of a group that owns the Coral Ridge Country Club and the adjacent American Golfers Club, which was the only public golf course in Fort Lauderdale when Hurricane Wilma damaged it and closed it in 2005.
A group of investors including Stiles and Smith is developing a 36-home gated community called the Enclave at Coral Ridge Country Club on the American Golfers Club property.
The 75-acre property, formerly an 18-hole golf course, now has a new nine-hole course and city park on the non-housing portion of the land.
J.J. Sehlke, managing partner of the Enclave, told the Sun-Sentinel three of the vacant Enclave lots have been sold, and eight others are under contract. Lot prices range from $785,000 to $1.35 million.
Sehlke also told the newspaper that construction is expected to start by the end of summer and that the first residents of the Enclave are expected to move into their new homes next year. [Sun-Sentinel] — Mike Seemuth
