Stiles Construction marked a key milestone today as it topped off construction of a new Fort Lauderdale luxury apartment community project, Elan 16Forty, in downtown Fort Lauderdale. The project, owned and operated by Greystar, is located at 1640 E. Sunrise Blvd., just west of Federal Highway in Victoria Park, a rapidly growing residential neighborhood.

More than 400 tradespeople, company and construction executives gathered on-site for a BBQ lunch to celebrate the mid-point toward completion of the 18-month long project, which is slated to open in September. An evergreen tree was placed upon the structure to symbolize growth and bring luck, and state and national flags were raised.

“Stiles is proud to have been selected for this exciting project, which will help to further the growth of Fort Lauderdale and offer residents expanded options for luxury apartment living,” said Tim Moore, President of Stiles Construction. “More than 300 skilled tradesman worked on a fast-track delivery schedule to bring this project to fruition, and we are pleased to celebrate those individuals as well as the ownership and executive teams that helped to make this vision a reality.”

Elan 16Forty will encompass 261 units across four apartment buildings, the highest of which is seven stories. The luxury complex will feature 2,300 square feet of retail space on the ground floor, staying true to the urban living concept that is synonymous with downtown Fort Lauderdale.

The community will offer one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans ranging from 686 to 1,599 square feet of living space. Interior finishes are to include stainless steel appliances, custom kitchen islands with European cabinetry, granite countertops with under-mount sinks, pendant lighting, bamboo flooring in living areas, contemporary carpeting in bedrooms, and ceramic tile in baths. Apartments will feature nine to 11-foot ceilings, walk-in closets and balconies.

Features also include state-of-the-art amenities, such as a clubhouse complete with gourmet kitchen, community room, executive business center and game room. Residents will be able to enjoy a resort-style swimming pool, spa, sun deck with cabanas, outdoor grilling stations and a rooftop terrace. The community will also offer on-site storage and a 540-spot covered parking deck.

Greystar is one of the nation’s most recognized developers of multifamily real estate. Stiles Construction, ranked the fifth largest contractor in South Florida by the South Florida Business Journal, is constructing the apartment complex while Stiles Realty is responsible for leasing the retail space on the ground floor.
