The JV’s 186-unit property features larger floorplans than most other local communities.
Raleigh, N.C.—Stiles Residential Group and Grubb Ventures have started pre-leasing at their multifamily project, The Carolinian on Glenwood, as it nears completion. The 186-unit apartment community is at 2600 Glenwood Ave. in Raleigh, inside the I-440 Beltline, and the first residents will be able to take occupancy in July.
In a departure from many of the area’s apartment communities, The Carolinian emphasizes larger floor plans and a greater concentration of two- and three-bedroom units. Its apartments include studios and one-, two- and three-bedroom units ranging from 600 square feet to more than 1,700 square feet, each featuring high-end condo-level finishes and appliances.
“The interior and exterior gathering spaces will be larger than comparable properties, and are designed to evoke the feeling of a high-end boutique hotel,” said Jeff McDonough, president of Florida-based Stiles Residential Group, which partnered with N.C.-based Grubb on the development. “All told, the project will boast over 20,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenity space, which is more than many projects with twice the number of units.”
The property overlooks the Carolina Country Club golf course. Common amenities include underground parking, private gated access, a sun deck with a salt water pool and entertainment area, an outdoor rooftop lounge, and three resident lounges with a variety of spaces for social interaction or retreat.
The community will also offer a café, entertainment and gaming areas, a fitness center and yoga studio, and a conference room. The property features pet-friendly services, such as a “canine club,” which includes an indoor dog run and play area, together with a pet grooming spa. Clancy & Theys Construction Co. is building the property.
