South Florida-based Stiles Construction announced today that they have been honored with a 2017 Build Florida Award by The Associated General Contractors of America, Inc., Florida East Coast Chapter (AGC FEC) for Excellence in Innovation on the Charles F. Dodge City Center Pembroke Pines. Stiles was one of 13 award winners announced at the awards gala on February 17 in West Palm Beach, Florida. More than 190 Florida industry professionals attended.
The biennial AGC Build Florida Awards program is a prestigious, competitive awards competition open to AGC FEC Chapter general and specialty contractor members. Nominated projects must have been a new build or renovation located anywhere in Florida, completed between September 15, 2015 and September 15, 2017. Nominee projects were judged by a panel of three judges, representing a cross-section of the AEC industry – an architect, Mr. Mark Beatty, AIA, LEED AP; a building official, Mr. Doug Wise; and a general contractor, Cindy Baldwin, CGC, LEED AP, CM-BIM.
Projects were judged by categories and the following criteria:
- Overcoming Challenge / Difficulties
- Excellence in Project Management
- Innovation in Construction Techniques, Materials and Process
- Sensitivity to the Environment
- Service to the Client and Community
- Commitment to Safety
